Morito Scovill Americas is a proud supporter of the Volunteers for Literacy program. The VFL is a non-profit, United Way agency that develops and supports literacy programs in Habersham County. MSA is sponsoring the 10th annual Duck Race and participating in the 4th Annual Dec-A-Duck contest.

Our entry in this year’s contest is Rosie the Riveter. Rosie is rocking her signature denim shirt and polkadot scarf and showcases Morito Scovill products that are manufactured right here in Clarkesville, Georgia:

Scarf – made from a recycled Halloween costume
Shirt – made from recycled blue jeans and styled with a brass 24 ligne snap brooch
Hair – made from yarn and curled in a fashionable 40s hair style
Wings – made from modeling clay and feathers
Boxes – made of popsicle sticks and MSA packing boxes
Strip Accents – made of denim and various MSA rivets and burrs
Books – replicas of Rosie the Riveter: The Legacy of an American Icon by Sara Dvojack and We Can Do It by G. Sagmiller.

Last year our steampunk-inspired duck design, Inspector Grommet, won 1st place in Best Book Theme, Best All Around and People’s Choice and 2nd place in Most Creative.
